Rambling on...
Welcome to my first blog post as the Eco Bloke at EcoBloke.co.uk.
My aim was to set up this ‘plain speaking’ blog to help people just like me get the best out of living the eco-life.
I haven’t really got a plan of the direction of what I am trying to achieve here yet, but I guess you can expect loads of informational blog posts based on tips for green living, products and books that can help you along the way in your low-carbon living and loads of news from around our beautiful planet.
All of which can be enjoyed while sipping your tea and nibbling that hobnob!

Here’s a tip for you…
Cigarette butts can be used as weedkiller. if half a bucket full are soaked for a few days in water, then drained you can use the liquid to control weeds inbetween slabs etc.
The nicotine is a poison but it is biodegradable, and free.

What about the other chemicals though?
Good point, but as its the butts its the mainly unburnt tobbaco so it should compost like other organics, the tar is a result of burning it as are many of the other chemicals we are familiar with.
The active component is the nicotine which is a poison.
